Club Nights
Yate Leisure Centre offers 2 discounted squash evenings a week open to everyone.
The evenings are informal and are a great way to meet & play new people. We have a range of players from beginners through to seasoned campaigners and, if you want it, you’ll find others able to offer help & advice.
When busy, we restrict matches to 20 minutes or 3 games to ensure everyone gets a few matches in. Emphasis is heavily on the social, and we’ll often play some 3/4 court games too to get everyone on court.
Mention squash night at the leisure centre reception, pay the reduced rate and head up to the courts, we’ll see you there!
Sessions
Friday 5:40PM – 9PM
Sunday 5PM – 7PM
Team Squash
We currently have two teams playing in the Bristol and District League against other squash clubs in the Bristol area. We’re always looking out for new players. Matches are generally played on Wednesday nights with a meal and drinks afterwards.
Junior Squash
Coaching for children and lots of match play. Further details.
Boxes
Boxes (Internal leagues) are run each month, players are expected to contact their opponents and make every effort to complete each game. Results are posted on the notice board and collected each month. Monthly promotion & relegation occurs.
All members should endeavour to play all their matches each month and offer the points to their opponent if unable to play.
Tournaments
The club runs a couple of tournaments throughout the year. These are great fun and are often followed by a meal. The format is usually round-robin followed by knockout so you’re guaranteed to get a number of games. Next tournament being held is on the 19th July, feel free to contact us if you wish to participate.
About Our Club Social Events
As well as squash, the club runs a range of social events throughout the year to help members meet, relax, and enjoy the community side of the sport. These include:
-
Evenings at Maxi Lounge (pool and darts)
-
Socials at Wetherspoons

Pub quizzes
-
Other casual meet‑ups and activities
These events are open to all members, whether you play regularly or just drop in occasionally. To stay updated, keep an eye on the Yate Squash Club WhatsApp chat or check the posters on the squash court doors for details of upcoming socials. Some social events will be paid for by the club others we ask members to pay for themselves.
